New Orleans has always fascinated me. I have yet to visit there but Stuart took me by the hand and walked me through its streets, giving me the sights and sounds of the city and a way of life that was so similar to Victorian England in its duality. The characters were well drawn, and acted out their stories within the mores of their time. I liked the touches of adventure in the jungles of Mexico and the fact that the hero and villain had once been friends gave a very realistic touch to that conflict. A good first novel.

Lucie was born into a time where women were supposed to marry, get pregnant and look pretty, well she wants more. When her husband turns out to be far less than she hoped for and unfortunate circumstances force her to be the man he should have been she finds one man to help.

Stephen Arroyo is on a mission, a mission for revenge that may cost him more than he bargains for. The treasure he's found is nothing compared to what he might lose in the process.

I really liked the characters in this book, set in late 1840's New Orleans during the war between Mexico and the US times were hard, and in New Orleans the population was diverse. Women were trophies, mistresses were common and happiness for some seemed like just a dream. Lucie is young but forced to grow up quickly and she learns in the process that success is not just measured by your husband and sometimes you must learn to do for yourself and your family.

This story pulled me in and kept me turning the pages, it had a little romance and a lot of heart. I will definitely be looking for more from this author.

I loved this book! Great story with wonderful character development. The author's descriptions of New Orleans of the 1840s made me feel like I was there. I was really sorry when the story came to an end.
An easy read that let's you experience the sights and flavors of America's beloved and entertaining Crescent City with its intricately woven diverse community of cultures and peoples.
I needed a suspension of current time – where women were feminine, strong and independent and the men were handsome, gallant and swarthy. I wanted to be taken to another place and time – New Orleans in the mid-1800s was perfect! Provocative chemistry, sigh-worthy romance and a compelling storyline. Worth the read!
This book was hard to put down! Fascinating setting, interesting characters and a nicely driven storyline. The descriptions of life in New Orleans at this point in history will make you long for the adventure it offered. The depictions of the various levels of society ring true. Beautifully written. I loved this book and dare you not to fall in love with the hero.
She did a beautiful job of capturing the period of New Orleans I would have loved to live in. Having lived in this area for a long time I knew she was a native. The heroine is a bit of a contradiction. One minute she is going to save the day and the next she is a blunderbuss. This is a bit typical of romance books. Change this up a bit, please. (listen at me , I could not write a book if my name was Book) I enjoyed the book and with the ending I think we can look forward to a sequel. I hope so.
Creole Moon is an impressive debut from a new writer in the romance genre. Offering a thoroughly swoon-worthy hero, a plucky and appealing heroine and a vivid setting, author Genevieve Stuart clearly "gets" the elements that make for a compelling "bodice-ripper." This was impossible to put down! I am looking forward to her next book---and ready for a return to magical New Orleans!
